Sponsor one of our sweet
and loving animals!
Arrowhead Ranch Horse Rescue, Inc. is a 501c-3 non-profit corporation in the state of New York. It is a sister company to Arrowhead Ranch & Retreat, located on the same property. We’re a sanctuary where rescued animals live their lives in peace and dignity. In turn, these rescued animals, with their pure gentle spirits, can offer a form of therapy to humans: uplifting, comforting and empowering them!
We’ve just launched our Animal Sponsorship Program, and we hope you’ll consider joining us in our mission to provide our rescues with essentials like food, utilities, labor, equipment, veterinary services. This may be the perfect gift for your loved ones that are so hard to shop for!
Our rescue program needs your support so we can keep helping these animals and our community! If you would like to help our impactful non-profit, please consider sponsoring an animal for
$5 a month or make a one-time donation today!
Your tax-deductible contribution to our non-profit is what keeps us running.
We are very grateful to be a recipient of the Resorts World Gives Grant! If your organization is interested in becoming a sponsor to assist with our animal rescue operation, please contact us through the form below.

Nora
2 adorable mini mules came to us via a friend from the horse community in 2021. They had been rescued at an auction and were originally owned by an Amish farmer. Nora is the female, and more tame of the 2. She is super sweet and loves to be brushed and fed apples.

Norman
They say mules are stubborn but young Norman goes way beyond! In the 3 years since we took on this adorable mini mule, he is still at square one! He will not be touched by anyone, although he certainly will eat treats from anyone’s hand! He likes people and comes right up to you, but he must have been through a lot in the past. In addition, he is incredibly strong, as strong as a full-sized horse!

Chocolate
Our most recent rescue in November 2024 is a sweet and gentle mare. She’s had some health issues, and her owners wanted her to be in a place that could give her more care and attention. We are looking forward to having her at Arrowhead and nursing her back to health. She seems very sweet so far, and very, very hungry.

Midnight
Midnight has perhaps the best back story in our group! He was found at midnight by cops on Sunrise Highway! They called a local wild animal rescue. His ear tag revealed he had escaped from a local slaughterhouse! The lady at the rescue insisted on taking him, and we found him on Facebook. We had been looking for a single goat to be a companion for Jack and we knew this was the right one! Midnight loves to play with people and dogs.

Jack
Jack is a complete angel and sweetheart. Even when we first got him, he came when called, and never got into the slightest trouble. Goats Jack and Jill came as a pair in 2022. Jill was older and passed away in 2023. Goats are known to be mischievous, but never Jack! He loves to be petted and get attention. He is always a big hit with our visitors!

Momma Magnolia and Bella
Momma Magnolia (aka Maggie!) and her daughter, Bella, came to us when the beloved Rolling Stone Ranch in Bethel went out of business in 2022. They were the only ones left in the deserted place when we met them! The owner, Lowell, bred these mini Fallabellas, aristocratic pets from South America. He even wrote a beautifully illustrated children’s book called Little Falabella the Magical Horse about their history and worked in some of the real characters. Unfortunately, an infection left Maggie blind before we met her. She is an oldy but a beauty, a friendly soul who loves treats, and Bella is a curious, spirited little girl who loves attention and treats!

Harry
Rescued from a small dairy farm in Bethel, Harry was our very first animal rescued in June of 2020. He was only 6 months old…after a difficult birth no one knew if he would survive. He is super sweet and loving, and now tough as nails! At 4 years old, he has only known love, and certainly knows how to give it. If you visit, he comes bounding over to meet you and licks you with a sandpaper tongue!

Stanley
Stanley came with Harry as a rescue from a small dairy farm in Bethel. He was only 6 months old in June of 2020. He has been a constant companion and buddy to Harry as they have been together at Arrowhead all their lives! He loves visitors, we have endless photos of them putting their noses into the camera hamming it up! At 4 years old now, Stanley is strong and beautiful and leads a happy life!

Mickey
No one knows exactly how much he weighs, 2000 is a guess, but he surely is pure love! Big Mick somehow was driven here in June of 2022, when the Pine Ridge Dude Ranch closed. We agreed to rescue their giant mascot steers, Mickey and Squirt. Mickey was at one time a therapy / cuddling cow for a man with cancer, and he is gentle as can be. He lives out with the horse herd because he would always lose his meal to his more aggressive peers. He is a very special boy and is never even the slightest trouble to care for!

Squirt
Gorgeous and black, always poised with dignity, the gigantic angus Squirt came to us in June of 2022 from Pine Ridge Dude Ranch. He is so mellow and understated, really a great and majestic being. He is always watching from the background, and never gets in any trouble. Loves to be petted, but won’t fight the others to the front.
